The factory on which it was necessary to spend mass lay-offs, settled down in the southwest of the United States and by that moment provided to district with the greatest quantity of workplaces. The general staff reduction led to that more than ten percent of all local workers were on the street that sensitively struck on local population. At the factory the situation was not less heavy: the workers working here already in the second generation, appear, inevitably should lose job, and find a little decent job in that region it was difficult. Moreover, to the companies with might and main there were internal wars which were conducted among themselves by the senior managers, each of which aspired to save the department from pernicious reduction.
Us have invited there that within two days we have joined in this process and have helped the general director of factory and sixteen its direct subordinated to carry out this procedure. Among the first actions spent by us there was a studying of a typological profile of all participants of this group, and then and all heads of the organisation. When it has been made, became obvious: over this organisation logicians who "were reproduced" with such speed supervised exclusively that soon more than ninety percent of employees of the company have appeared logicians. The similar "logic" culture had serious consequences for all and everyone in the company.
Being logicians, managers of the company were inclined to consider events impartially and objectively that can be very useful, if speech comes about reduction. It allows the people, making decisions, to be impartial and to make a difficult choice for the company blessing. But logicians afflicted with objectivity invariably aspire to "correct" all — to find that is not perfectly in order, and to solve these questions. However during this heavy and uneasy period they did not have not enough one: the subjective approach, that is ability to understand development of interpersonal relations.
We have helped supervising employees to understand in to ourselves (as a rule, logicians hate it to do) that they could notice and estimate weak places in the organising potential. It has allowed them to operate better own activity and reduction as a whole. Contentions have stopped, the quantity of stresses was reduced, and sad procedure of staff reduction has received more human character.
